B: White ivory or plastic stopper, Dia: 1.25", Top has rounded rim around edge, depressed center with tiny knob in middle, Bottom of the stopper curves in at the edges and extends down where it fits into the top of the tea caddy and is covered with good foil. C: Shifuku, Silk Bag Cover, made of grey and gold brocade with Buddhist knot design and Phoenix motifs. Sides of the bag are made from two pieces sewn half way up leaving upper slits on both sides. Shaped with darts near the bottom. and sewn to a stiffened circular bottom. Lined with purple silk. Braided purple silk cord tied in a loop is attached to both sides of the bag with crossed stitching. This allows cord to be used as a draw string to gather up the top of the bag. |

On the inside of the front of the drawer are two characters which are repeated on inside front of the box. C: Detachable incense burner holder frame, 4.5" square, with large hole in middle, made of stained kiri wood and beveled around the top edges. D: Incense burner, H: 1.625", Dia: 4", made of white ceramic with green glaze, round with straight sides, with a flanged rim and three depressions in the top resembling an ash tray. Two lines of blue thread hold the lower spokes in the center and a white thread and silver foil keep them in place where they are attached to the knob. Around the edge of the deep purple are two cloud shapes in mauve and lavendar surrounding a white corner with gold and silver printed design (hake) with chrysanthemums and karakusa scroll-like designs. Green background with resist dyed design dividing one side with a diagonal line, creating one white corner. Beside these poles are three bamboo leaf clusters and a bamboo branch with leaves in green. D. Kaishi (white paper napkins) folded in half and stored inpaper wrapper, 5 3/4" x 5 5/8". The front of the paper wrapper is printed with a red and white background design of geometrical hemp leaves. In three places roundels are printed with gold border and center with red accents. Black Kanji on the front, "registered for tea ceremony, kaishi, made by Okumura Kikumitsu". On the back is an advertisement, "Thank you for buying this. Every time you need Kaishi, make sure you buy Itorya kaishi". Fukasa are used by the host and guests to ritually wipe the tea bowl. Kaishi are used by the guests to receive and eat sweets. |

Steel alloy can insert is filled with rocks acting as a weight and has a smaller can attached to the insert. Painted tan on the exterior and and interior small can. Painted around inner rim.
