Abstract
Watercolour Painting entitled "Pressure Boys" Depicts four Japanese American men of different ages standing to the right, dark green clothing, white background on heavy weight cold pressed watercolour paper. The largest figure on the right has his hand in his pocket, the man next to him holds a pipe, the man in the background has a beard and rosy cheeks, and the man at the left holds his hand up to his chest and has white and light green lines crossing his chest. It represents interned Japanese Americans contemplating being sworn in to the U.S. Army and has a very serious mood. The artist has signed the back in pencil with the title, his name, and date with a copyright symbol, "'Pressure Boys', Lee J. Wexler, 1977 c" and the lower right front with his name and date. The painting was originally adhered to black paper at the back top and framed in black plastic.
