Watercolour Painting entitled "Gold Star Mother" Depicts a woman standing on the left holding a folded American flag in her arms. At the right side of the painting are gravestones with numbers in front of a fence, guard tower and an electrical pole with wires. There is a pale orb (sun or moon?) in the sky. The painting is a dark muted greenish brown, white, red and blue flag, grayish blue sky, white moon and white accent on the largest tombstone; the shadow of the tower is olive green, some sienna paint in the graveyard. The whole painting is speckled with paint, the figure and tombstones are outlined in grey on watercolour paper. The artist has signed the back in pencil with the title, his name, and date with a copyright symbol, "'Gold Star Mother', Lee J. Wexler, 1977 c" and the lower left front with his name and date. Originally framed in a black plastic frame.
