Abstract
Watercolour Painting entitled "New Home 1942" Depicts a Japanese American woman with a young toddler (girl) in her arms standing in front of a tar paper wooden barrack which has the letter "A" in white on the door, wild grass and weeds in the foreground. The woman wears a white dress with red flowers, black hair; the little girl has a light colored dress with leggings and socks, the shack is charcoal colour with a tan roof and lathe; the grass is green and white and the sky behind is blue, gray and white, speckled finish. Painted on medium weight watercolour paper with transparent and semi-transparent paint. The artist has signed the back in pencil with the title, his name, and date with a copyright symbol, "'New Home 1942', Lee J. Wexler, 1977 c" and the lower left front with his name and date.
