Doll - Artifacts

Description
Japanese doll of a young girl dressed ina kimono doing a dance with a branch of wisteria in bloom carried over her right shoulder. She wears a lacquered bowl-shaped hat which is fastened under her chin with a red silk cord. Her kimono has purple, white, and yellow bands with printed cherry blossoms. Her obi (waist band) has diagonal orange and grey stripes. She is mounted on a wooden stand, the top of which is covered with red silk. The doll has a china head with painted features. The silk covering of the platform is stained and faded. The dancer's kimono is faded, as are the wisteria blossoms which are made of fabric.
