Costume - Artifacts

Description
Jacket: L: 30.25", W: 61" sleeve tip to sleeve tip, 21" at underarms, 23.5" at hem red silk jacket with chartruse green trim; adult size; 2.5" stand up collar that appears to have been worn open with the collar folded down, western style; each of the welt pockets has hand sewn bar tacks finished with button- hole stitch in each corner; closure is with 5 red and green (self fabric) spiral frogs; the damask design is the same as that in the pants, a bird and flower pattern; center front opening; seam in the elbow area of the arm; upper arm is continuous with the body fabric red damask silk; curved welt pockets (4); hand sewn except the collar attachment to the body Pants: L: 39", W: waist 15", hip 27", leg width at hem 20" green pants with red trim to match the jacket; side openings; closure is with the same red/green spiral frogs; separate "V"-shaped waist band in front; in back it is contoured; the damask pattern is of birds in flight, clouds, and flowers; the pants are large; front and back pleats; definitely not children's wear sewn as finishing; major seams are machine stitched
