Doll - Artifacts

Description
A small Kokeshi doll with a large head that makes it look top-heavy. The doll is made of wood with a raised lathed band around the body. The face on the doll is simple. It has hand-painted black hair, bangs, and hair on either side of the face. Painted on the top of the head is a large red many-petaled flower. In the middle of the flower is black hair. Behind the hair on the sides are more red petals from the flower. The head is attached to the cylinder body. The top of the cylinder has two bands of red, and then two smaller bands of green. Between these bands is the natural wood. The body is separated by a raised lathed band 3" down from the top of the body. This band is 3/8" wide and is painted red. Above the band in the front are four four-petaled red flowers with green leaves. Below the band is a red many-petaled flower with green leaves below it. Below this flower is a 1.5" green band. The cylinder tapers out and then back in at the bottom. The upper head is soiled. The raised band has water damage. There is an unknown inscription on the bottom.
