Description
(A) Red silk woman's two-piece wedding costume from the 1920's. Highly embroidered gold thread floral motif with wave design flowing from the hem of the jacket and the jacket cuffs, which are tapered. The central lobed medallion has two standing figures with black hair and stringed instruments in their hands. (B,C) Red panel skirt is constructed in two sections. Red silk material is embellished with a series of tightly done gold thread floral embroidery in vertical bands. White edging is used to further divide the skirt into vertical bands. Both pieces are lined. This costume is in good condition although there is visible evidence of handling (i.e. ordinary handling or wear by its original owners).
