Bowl - Artifacts

Description
Buddhist monk's metal donation bowl (a), with gilt metal top (b) and base (c). Bowll made of eight pieces of iron, seven of which are welded together to form the bowl. The eighyh constitutes the rim, and is welded to all the others. The bowl top is pressed sheet metal, with embossed buddhist figure and decorative flourishes on the upper surface. There is a gilt paint decoration of unknown significance on the rim of the bowl. The base is slso pressed sheet metal, two truncatedcones, sleeved togetherat the smaller ends, then pressure joined.
