Crossbow - Artifacts

Description
Large crossbow of unidentified hardwood. Bow is approxamitely 3/4" thick (max), tapering to twin carved bowstring tangs at ends. Stock is approxamitely 3/4" thick (max), tapering to approxamitely 3/8" at butt. Bow is decorated with 16 woven fiber (rattan?). All are loose, can fall off, front of stock- part trotruding beyond junction with bow- is decorated with diamond crosswatch carving. Trigger appears to be bone, with cotton twine buffer pad to protect stock from bowstring. Bowstring braided to form loops. One loop secured with additional string, one not. Center of string is reinforced by fiber (rattan?) wrapping. Additional note: Top of stock is grooved approxamitely 1/8" deep for 9 1/8" from forward end to accept dart. Collected in Laos, 1962-1964
