Crossbow - Artifacts

Description
(a) crossbow of two woods. Arms are darker, denser. Bow is 5/8" thick (max), and 1 5/8" high (frontal view). Tapers to 3/4" where its carved to form smaller tangs to accept bow loops. Two decorative bands of woven fiber are attached to the base of each arm. Stock is very plain, cross -hatched in front of bow arms, carved with 1/8" deep groove for 9 3/8" from front -groove is for dart. trigger is wood (b), Stock is 2 1/4" high (max), front tapers to1 1/4" at trigger, widens to 1 3/8" at butt. Bowstring is twisted riber, 38 1/4" long, spliced with additional material and braided at ends to form loops. Middle lf bowstring is reinforced with wrapping of (frattan?) fiber. Note: Collected in Laos, 1962-1964.
