Knife - Artifacts

Description
Scabbard (a) is a tapered form of bamboo slats, secured at the open end by lacing (bamboo? rattan), and at the bottom, or closed, end by a hide sheath. The knife (b), has a blade 10 3/4" long fitted into a gently tapered wooden handle 6" . The blade is curved, 2 1/8" deep at maximum and 1" where it joins the handle. the handle has a welded matal reinforcing band a juncture of blade and handle. Note: Collected in Laos, 1962-1964
