Description
Doll dressed in traditional lao formal wear. Her hair is done in a right leaning bun, secured by a looped gold-bead band. Her necklace is of the same desigh material. She wears amaroon bouse with a foulard like pattern with a gold brocade collar and lapels. Her sash is similar material, but wider. The ankle-length skirt is made of red, black, and yellow horizontally striped bands sewn togerher. The lower fifth of the skirt is gold brocade similar to the sash and collar. The doll is affixed to a wooden base by two metal spikes that penetratesup the legs. Note: Collected in Laos, 1962-1964
