Case, Needle - Artifacts

Description
Long, hexagonal-shaped case (a), with cover (b), Silver with carnelian bead. Case has loop on top, to which chain ( now missing ) was attached and went through hole in top of cover to keep it together. A large carnelian bead is attached to the bottom. The case would be half-filled with a kind of cotton batting and the precious needles otude into the that. The steel for the needles was imported from Germany, and so they were very precious. Each side of the cade is decorated with an enameled panel of flowers and animals. b) The cover is decorated with geometric linear design, a hole in the center top where a chain would go through.
