Description
Flat bamboo paper-covered fan with scrolled black wooden handle with gold string tied at the bottom with red silk tassle. Front: Kimono clad woman holding parasol standing in front of iris garden with circular inset scene behind her. Off white background with gold dots, Kimono is gray with red sleeve lining. Obi is white with gold and blue design tiedwith red cord. Her parasol is light brown with a design of gold butterflies and white flowers (pinks). The iris are dark blue with gray and gold leaves. The scene in the inset is a blue lake with pavillion on the end of a pier, tiny boat with people, white and blue iris. Rock and tree to the left. Buildings on opposite shore. Pink and yellow sky. Circle is outlined in gold with 2 birds flying at edge. Blue, gray and brown fabric semi-circle around top of handle. Back: Large pink M in pink diamond triangular band. "M.
