Small metal pin with gold plated front in the shape of a shield or crest. Front is edged in gold with a large area of purple inlay whose shape follows the outline of the crest. Attached on top of the purple is a smaller shiny gold-plated crest with a slight thickness and slightly raised in relief. This inner crest is cast with four Ionic columns which fill the lower part of the crest. Vegetation lines the bottom of the crest also. The columns support a register with the letters "AEISLMA" Above the register, filling the rest of the crest, is a cnetral emitting rays. The back of the pin is engraved with "Sterling" and "1/10". The back also has much discoloration especially where the pin attaches to the metal front and in the space beneath the pin, in between the two points of attachment. Spots of the gold plating on the smaller crest have also worn away.
