Description
Carved Wooden Box with Four Brass Weights A, B: Box One side of circular box is level to form a base. The lid is 5/8" in height, slides from left to right in carved grooves. The face of the lid has a large carved hansa bird. C, D, E, F: Weights The box holds four brass weights in the shape of hansa birds. C: 1 5/8, D: 1",E: 7/8", F: 5/8". The birds stand on a small round base. The hansa bird is believed to alight in a certain place where the people would build a temple. The female bird was protected by the male by sitting on top of her. May have silver in the brass alloy. (Donor)
