Puppet, hand - Artifacts

Description
Burmese Puppet with Strings and Wooden Holder Puppet has a wooden body, carved wooden arms and legs which are highlighted with red and gold paint, a carved wooden head with features painted in black and red, a high crowned hat painted red with yellow rim and gold leaf patterns outlined in green. Doll is dressed in a red cloth robe with yellow trim down the center front, a green sash running diagonally across the body trimmed with multicolored sequins and red and gold cord. Has an under skirt of off-white fabric with vertical silver threads. There are eight control cords for the puppet attached to a wooden crossbar 2 1/4"x 3/4"x 1/4" through which 2 pegs 1/8" in dia. and 1 7/8" long project.
