Doll - Artifacts

Description
Hina Matsuri Emperor Doll A: Separate head set on wooden peg, made of molded wood paste, painted, inset glass eyes, black fiber hair drawn up in a top knot bound with taupe colored thread on top of head. B: Body - Outer kimono of olive green cotton damask with floral patterns, front of sleeves has a strip of loosely woven yellow thread on a brown paper backing, narrow black band and orange-red silk strip. Front "apron" of two layers of paper backed loosely woven cotton thread in varying patterns, ends in brown cotton fringe. Lower body covering of loosely woven cotton with vertical stripes of purple, green, brown, olive and yellow. Down center back is wide strip of white paper with printed floral patterns, narrow black paper belt. Under sleeves of loose woven cotton with narrow stripes of purple, red, beige, brown and green. Bottom is wood covered with thin white paper. Hands and one foot showing are crudely carved white painted wood. C: Sword, 11.5" long of wood, paper wrapped handle is white with black bands, painted gold cardboard hilt and black bottom, painted black blade/scabbard. D: Tatami pedestal, 13.25" x 7.5" x 2", unfinished wood based covered with woven rice straw with binding, in back is red cotton fabric, in front is silk. Front covered with striped cotton fabric with painted geometric patterns.
