Doll - Artifacts

Description
Emperor Doll in seated position with arms crooked forward A: Head made of molded wood paste dipped in gofun (crushed oyster shell), black painted hairline, eyebrows, red paint on lips is missing. Inset glass eyes. Black fiber hair pulled into top knot tied with thread. Large ears B: Body has no hands or feet. Outer robe of kamiko, cotton warp, paper weft floral design in green, tan, blue and orangey red; square neckline, wide sleeves with bands of red silk crepe, brown and white striped kamiko fabric, purple and brown striped fabric, white cotton running stitches above bands; front bib section of robe has red silk crepe trim and stiffened apron with raised edges in layers of green and tan, striped white and tan and a center square of red cotton with white silk criss-crossed thread. At neckline shows six collars of underrobes (white, red, white, white, purple, brown/white), White cloth tape applied to back of robe. Lower body is covered with white and tan kamiko fabric. Wood bottom. C: Orange silk cord tied around neck ending with red and white tassels.
