Doll - Artifacts

Description
5 court musician Dolls used for Hina Matsuri Display (Girl's Day) Doll 1: 5.75x6.25" A: Separate head made of molded wood paste and dipped in gofun, painted eyebrows, red painted mouth sweetly smiling, inset glass eyes, undefined ears, black fiber hair tufts inset either side of bald head. B: Body in kneeling posture with arms crooked in front and painted carved wooden hands held near mid-chest level. Outer robe and hakama of gold on blue brocade in phoenix and floral pattern, tied in bow at waist with self- fabric obi. Under robe of "old gold" on gold brocade in a scoll design, shows at neckline and sleeve opening, sleeves padded. 3 beige silk, 1 beige damask and 1 rust collar show at neckline and rust silk shows at sleeve opening and sides of hakama. Doll 2: 5.75x4.375" C: Head same as doll 1 except that mouth is open and teeth showing, has missing tuft on forehead and possibly on crown. D: Body same as 1 except that left is higher and fingers are curled. Upper part of outer robe hangs down back, exposing under robe. Doll 3: 9x4.625" E: Head same as doll 1 with mouth closed. F: Body same as 1 with legs extended in front, costume same as doll 2 Doll 4: 8.25x6" G: Head same as doll 1 with mouth closed with determined look. H: Body same as 1 with legs extended in front Doll 5: 5.75x6" I: Head same as doll 1 with mouth open, teeth showing, topknot on crown. J: Body same as 1 in kneeling posture, costume same as doll 1
