Miniature Drum used in Gagaku (Gagakudaiko) Court Music Papier mache round drum painted with gold on black suspended with 3 metal brackets (upper one is broken), 2 are tied with purple silk cords. Design on drum consists of 3 lion dogs chasing each other around a center (2 green lions with red tails, 1 white dog with red tail), trailing red ribbons around green circular design in center which contains a gold square shape with convex sides. Sides of drum has bronze paper mache band fastened with metal bosses. Black lacquer with gold painted frame consists of four curled legs curving outward supported a ring shaped top; red flame shape at top with gold drop shaped flame in bas relief.
