Dress - Artifacts

Description
Basketry dance dress made of diagonally plaited plant fiber sewn into a sleeveless dress decorated with dyed chicken feathers. The front of the dress has a square neck and the back has a V-neck outlined with red feathers. Red and white feathers are sewn on in two place on the skirts of the dress front and back. Black band sewn around bottom of dress with red and pink feathers. Flat V-cut plant fibers around the bottom of the black band. It appears that the weaving strands left wide at the bottom and cut or folded as they continue to be woven throughout the piece. The back is open and closes with velcro.
