Uniform - Artifacts

Description
U.S. Navy Uniform of navy blue wool. A: Bell bottom pants in dark navy wool has front flap with 13 dark buttons with anchors on them. Center back is laced up allowing for adjustment in size One back pocket. B: Blouse has a yoke in front which comes to a V. V-shaped neckline with square "midi" collar at back. One slit pocket on left. Long sleeves with cuffs which have 3 stripes of white cotton on the navy-blue wool. Left sleeves has 4 diagonal red stripes which indicate 3 years of service for each stripe. Above are 3 red chevron stripes for rank and above a white eagle and undetermined insignia. Back yoke. Midi collar has 3 lines of cotton tape and a white machine embroidered star on each corner. Label under collar has size 36S, fiber content - 100% wool and cleaning instructions. C: Dark navy synthetic satin tie. Fastens with velcro at the back. Has tag that says made by Disabled American Veterans. D: Name tag is made of black plastic with incised name in white N.B. DALIGDIG 1 x 3" E: White cotton hat. Stitch-stiffened upturned brim. Cap made in 6 pie- shaped pieces. Size 7 label. Brim - H:2 5/8", Circ:23"
