Cloth (flag) - Artifacts

Description
Cloth: War Souvenir White silk cloth with orangey red circle in middle--Japanese flag. Around the orange circle men have written their names in Japanese (63) in sumi ink. To one side is written the name of the owner, Shigeru Kawai, and good fighting and long life. The soldier would have carried it in his pocket as a good luck charm to protect himself during the war. The flag was probably captured during World War II by an American soldier. In one corner is written in ink in Chinese characters, Wong..., possibly Rick Wong's father Puey King Wong who was in the U.S. military during WW II.
