Boots - Artifacts

Description
Pair of Hip wader boots A & B: Black rubber exterior, pieced for shape, top of boot has molded rubber decoration of lozenge-shaped lines, one line dipping below the rim and the other around the top of the rim; metal grommet on upper inside edge of each boot; molded crennelated rubber soles with short heels. On the underside of the sole is stamped in read 8 M. Made in USA. Interior of boots lined with a knitted cotton adhered to the rubber. The boots are dirty and some evidence of mould. Used in the Alaska canneries by the donor's late husband.
