Description
Chinese Bowl of brown carved wood and tin lining The rim and inside of the bowl is made of undecorated tin. The carved relief wood on the outer bowl has a geometric thunderline border under the rim. The central section has a 1.5" band of flora and fauna motifs--prune, pine, bamboo (bamboo and pine are both symbols of longevity and the prune represents the first month and winter). There are four large billed birds of undetermine species (may be waterbirds since there are waves decorating the bowl). Underneath the motifs is a geometric border and 2 thin carved stripes. The bowl foot is undecorated metal.
