Doll - Artifacts

Description
Kokeshi Doll, Warabe (small child) type Hand painted wood, head is white with painted black hair in old children's style, with paintd red ribbons hinted at the crown and sides. Black painted eyebrows and eyes, red painted mouth with a raised dot for a nose. Instead of the usual painted body, this doll is covered with cloth representing the child's kimono: pink collar, bamboo with snow flake designs on red background kimono or outer garment (designs have gold outlines), narrow obi or belt of floral gold motif on orange background. This type of doll is said to originate in the rural area of the Tohoku region. May be played with in modern time or serve as a decorative piece in a child's room.
