U.S. Army issue wool trousers The trousers are machine stitched from olive green wool and are unlined. Off white cotton canvas has been stitched to the waistband to form two back and two front pockets and a reinforcement for the triangular fly. Seven dark olive green buttons also line the interior waist band, perhaps for buttoning a shirt into place. The back left pocket has a buttonhole; at the right front is a small square front pocket in additions to the front (side) pocket. Five dark olive green buttons line the fly; there are seven belt loops around the waistband.
