Block print, "Self Portrait" by Fay Chong, 1933. Wide off-white matting (three inch top and sides, four inch bottom). Linoleum block print on off-white Japanese (?) paper. Self portrait of shoulders and head in foreground and assorted images in background. Strong sense of light illuminates right side of face and throws other half into almost complete shadow. Artist wears a beret and a pullover with long collar protruding from beneath. In the bottom left are the initials "F.C.". The little self-portrait is signed in pencil below the shadowed left shoulder. "F. Chong" and "1933"is signed in the bottom right.
