Description
Blue woman's ko'oto (light coat or "duster") Royal blue tsumugi (hand spun) silk, horshoe shaped front neckline with flat band finish, center panels overlap so fastenings are 3" to the right of center, in-seam hidden pocket in underlap, two self-covered buttons just below neckline and two more widely spaced lower down, snap fasteners under each button and to hold underlap in place, relatively short sleeves open near body, rounded outer corner, wrist opening; habutae silk yoke lining has a katazome (stencil) design of broad stripes in a wave design in lime green, peach and rust colors and while, within each stripe are wave, bamboo, maple leave and floral designs in blue, lime green and peach colors; silk loop at inner back neck reinforced with catch stitching. Totally hand stitched. A middle aged woman would wear this over her clothing when going out.
