Hakama - Artifacts

Description
Hakama style skirt Lightweight Ro (gauze) weave silk with brown and black stripes created by the weave; front has 6 large pleats folded toward the center with front 2 overlapping, back has 2 very deep pleats folded toward the center, both sides have faced openings extending at an angle 12" below waistband; waistband in front is folded over pleated edge and extends into very long ties on each side, stiffened waistband in back has sloping sides and two triangular flaps are fastened behind, 2 shorter ties extend out each side at back. Totally hand stitched. This hakama style skirt was probably part of a school girl's uniform
