Tea set - Artifacts

Description
Chinese Pewter Tea Set A: Tea Pot, H: 3.75", W: 8.5", D: 1.75", made of pewter with engraved design. The body is arched shaped. On one side an engraved medallion frames a landscape scene with a willow tree, rocks and a body water. Beneath the tree sits a man in a robe. On either side are two dragons surrounded by small clouds. On the other side the engraving is similar but the scene has a different configuration with a standing figure. On the rounded top and sides are engravings of plum blossoms and leaves. Extending form one end is a molded spout in the shape of a long necked bird with a man's face below. On the other side is a cast pewter handle with a curved inset of white jade in the center. There is a dragon's head at the point where the handle attaches to the pot. At the bottom end the attachment consists of two curlicues. At the center top is a curved rectangular opening into which the lid fits. On the bottom is an engraved stamp "C.M. ST. NO. 224" and with in a rectangle is stamped " W.C.S.H. Peking, China" B: Tea Pot lid, H: 1.75", W: 2.25", D: 1.375", made of pewter in a slightly curved rectangular shape with engraved plum blossoms on the top. The handle is made of pale green jade in the shape of an arch and fastened to the lid with two pewter fasteners. The underside has a rectangular ridge which fits snuggly into the top of the tea pot. C: Sugar Bowl, H: 2.375", W: 5.75", D: 1.25", made of pewter in the same arch shape as the tea pot. Both sides have an engraved dragon wth small clods. On each curved end are columns of plum blossoms. The ends have two handles made of cast pewter with a curved white jade inset in the middle. Where the handles attach to the bowl are dragon heads and curlicues similar to the tea pot. D: Sugar bowl lid, H: 1.125", W: 2", D: 1.275", made of pewter in flat rectangular shape with engraved plum blossoms on the top surrounding a light green arch shape jade handle with two pewter fasteners. E: Creamer, H: 2.375", W: 5.125", D: 1.25", made of pewter in an arch shape with a very wide spout extending from one end. On both sides is an engraved dragon surrounded by small clouds. Small clouds extend onto the sides of the spout. On the end covering part of the spout is a plum blossom arrangement. At the other end on either side are two bands of plum blossoms. The handle is identical to the sugar bowl handles. F: Creamer lid, H: 1", W: 3.5", D: 1.375", made of pewter in a shape which fits into the rectangular opening of the creamer and narrows slightly where it fits the spout. There are engraved plum blossoms surrounding a light green arch shaped jade handle with two pewter fasteners. On the underside is a shaped flange which fits into the top of the creamer. G: Candelabra, H: 3", W: 13", D: 2.5", made of pewter band which curves down at each end and then angles up into a three lobed cloud shape. Across the band are two engraved dragons surrounded by small clouds. On the flat raised section of the band are three molded pewter candle holders which are bowl shaped with flat lipped and flared bottoms. The two outer ones are slightly bent towards the center. Stamped into the bottom is "Mumphar Porcelain Co. Peking" H: Tea tray, H: .75", W: 13.125", D: 9", made of pewter with a flat arch shape with undulating curves and notches around the top. The interior of the flat bottom is engraved with a medallion in the center featuring a landscape with a mountain, pine tree, lake, and pavilion, figure on the shore and one in a small boat. On either side are two dragons surrounded by small clouds. The whole design is outlined with a floral border. There is a raised flange running around the perimeter of the tray. There is small flange around the tray. On the bottom is an engraved stamp "C.M. ST. NO. 224" and with in a rectangle is stamped " W.C.S.H. Peking, China"
