Family Association Calligraphy sign Black sumi ink on off white habutai silk which is wrapped around a rectangular piece of cardboard. Four large Chinese characters in the center. On the left are Four columns of Chinese characters with two sets of two characters above and below the four columns and at the bottom is a red seal. On the right is another vertical column of Chinese characters. The text says: "We are All From this Area" literally: "Unaminity of purpose is like a fenced city",and it was given by eight associations in San Francisco to the Toisan Association for its opening. Plain glass covers the calligraphy. The frame is made of carved wood painted gold. The inner part of the frame is carved in a vine like pattern. The center has a texture finish and the outer portion is carved into a double ridge. Black paper dust cover is missing from the back which has two screw eyes with a plain wire running between them.
