Wood Amulet, Somin Shorai Wood cylinder that has been carved with eight facets and is narrower at the top. It has three carved ridges around the middle. The top is painted yellow with a red five pointed star in the center. Around this extending down at an angle is a painted green band. On each facet on the upper half is a Chinese character "Somin Shorai no Shison Nari" (we are descendents of Shomin Shorai). Below this the three ridges are painted with short, vertical stripes alternating in red, green, and yellow paint. The bottom is plain and unvarnished. On the bottom written in English is "Somin Shorai".
