Furoshiki - Artifacts

This silk furoshiki is a deep purple with a design derived by the shibori method (a tied and dyed method) leaving white outlined shapes and using yellow dye accents. The cloth is off the bolt and the two side edges are not hemmed. The piece has six prominent plum blossom designs scattered throughout the FUROSHIKI. THe plum blossom design is in Shibori. The holes where the thread passed through to tie and prepare the cloth for the shibori process can be seen. The area surrounding the six blossoms are in shibori patterns as well.
