First volume (B) has large characters on second page. All others begin with 2-page illustration. Cover is three piece cardboard with cloth covered spines. Cloth is white cotton with blue "baseball" designs intermixed with two red lines. Border of cover and back is covered with green paper with diagonal lines, diamond shapes with flower in middle, intermixed with white flowers. Front has pasted cover of purple ink with two peacocks in background. Top half has inset illustration in green ink of boy playing flute, flying, girl on flying peacock. Clouds and building in background. Bottom half has inset for green title characters. "China" printed in purple on bottom. Published in Shanghai. Paper is yellowed. Cover is worn and faded. Spine has missing piece near top and is worn at bottom. Cover is secured by bone clasps secured by cloth cover.
