Shawl or Piano Cloth Black silk plain weave with flowers embroidered with silk thread in satin stitch. Four large orange and white peonies are placed near corners and surrounded by other orange and white flowers resembling roses with scrolling stems and leaves. A deep knotted silk fringe is stitched to a narrow hem around the shawl.
