Chinese Officials Informal Hat (Kua p'i Mao) Skull cap shaped made of black silk satin lined with red cotton triangular segments sewn together with bias band running around the lower edge which is bound with bias satin binding. At the very top is red silk braided thread knot. Inside the hat is black woven label with gold colored Chinese characters, hat manufacturer: Sheng Shi Fu hat factory. Above the label two more black characters stamped onto red lining, Lin ( last name of last owner).
