Hand stitched. Yuzenzome design extends 1/3 of the way up the front and into the interior front panels; there is no design on the back. Yuzenzome (paste resist, hand painted) design in olive green, light green, white, bronze, and gold flecks in a pine tree design accented with satin stitch embroidery in gold, olive green, golden brown and white silk thread. Adhered to the back of each sleeve, on the center back and on each shoulder are 5 white mon (Hara family crest) of a large circle at the top overlapped with two smaller circles at the bottom representing charcoal arranged in a brazier. This kimono is appropriate for an older woman (despite the red lining) as indicated by the simple, subtley colored and small amount of design, and shorter sleeves.
