Obi jime Tie - Artifacts

Description
Obi Jime Tie White and purple silk threads woven together to create a glat, couble braid with a diagonal stripe design ending in tassles. The tie is created using the kumihimo braiding technique which weaves a narrow tube that is flattened with the threads at both ends tied where the weaving stops creating a 1-inch fringe. The design is created by alternating the thickness of the thread bands for an allover diagonal stripe pattern. Three narrow purple stripes together form bands which flank the middle section of plain white threads. The cord is tied around the obi and knotted in the front ot hold the obi in place and serve as an accent.
