Description
Vase in shape of Water Bucket with interior container and two Y shaped branches. A: Homemade Wooden container with four sides and narrowing at the bottom and endign in four corner legs. Side pieces extend upward in triangular shape and cross bar joins them by extending through slots in the side. The cross bar curves up on the botom to imitate Japanese water bucket. The front section has been cut from a cross section of a burl, the back and one side have knots. the bottom has been nailed into the side pieces above the legs. container is stained and varnished. B: H: 6", Dia: 3.375", A cylindrical vessel cut from large piece of bamboo inside is hollow and the bottom is formed by a node in the bamboo. The top edge is painted black. The sides and interior are stained reddish brown. There are cracks on either side due to dryness. On one side near the bottom is a paper label printed with "Made in Japan". C: Small Y shaped wooden branch 3.125" long, Kubari cut at an angle and pressed into a cylindrical vase to support the main branches of the flower arrangement. Outside is covered with bark, inside has been shaved. D: Small Y shaped wooden branch 3.125" long, thinner than C: , Kubari cut at an angle and pressed into a cylindrical vase to support the main branches of the flower arrangement. Outside is covered with bark.
