Hishaku Water Ladle for Chado Tea Ceremony with separate handle. A: Ladle Bowl, Made of Bamboo, the bowl is made from wide piece of bamboo and cut so node forms the bottom. There is a curved slit in side of bowl to accomodate handle. B: The handle is made from piece of bamboo that has the shiny outer side facing up. A node creates a decorative accent near the middle of the handle. The narrower end of the handle has been carved into a Y shape. which has been pushed into the slot in side of the bowl.
