Cross cut section of wood used as base for flower arrangement. Shape is similar to a lozenge with notches at either side of the middle. One side is stained dark brown and the other is stained reddish brown and is coated with varnish. Near one end of what appears to be the upper side of the dai is an irregular shaped knot hole and at the other end are two notches in the surface. On this same side the initials of the donor "P.A.U." are written in blue ink on adhesive tape.
