Dai Base - Artifacts

Description
Two rectangular dai bases with curled legs used for Ikebana flower arranging. A: H: 1.25"; W: 19"; D: 10.75" Large brown wood dai base with curled legs used for Ikebana flower arranging. The base is made from a rectangular piece of wood with rounded ends that are glued to C-shaped turned wood legs. Stained dark brown with a matte finish varnish. Worn on the underside of the legs. On the bottom, a gold outline of Mt. Fuji with Hiragana characters which read, "Fuji" and a seal which reads "Jirushi" [Fuji mark]. Beneath the mountain shape is the number 16 and the donor's name, "Uno", is scratched into the wood. B. H: 1 3/8"; W: 14"; D: 8 3/8" Small brown wood dai base with curled legs used for Ikebana flower arranging. The base is made from a rectangular piece of wood with rounded ends that are glued to C-shaped turned wood legs. Stained dark brown with a matte finish varnish. Worn on the underside of the legs and there are two splits in the wood. On the bottom, a gold outline of Mt. Fuji with Hiragana characters which read, "Fuji" and a seal which reads "Jirushi" [Fuji mark]. Beneath the mountain shape is the number 12 and the donor's name, "Uno", is scratched into the wood. In one corner, "Made in Japan", is engraved in gold.
