Dai Bases - Artifacts

Description
Two oval shaped wood dai bases used for Ikebana flower arranging. A: H: 1.5"; W: 17.5"; D: 11" Top of the base is 1/2"-thick wood carved into an oval shape with rounded edges. Stained dark brown and varnished. On the bottom in three places are three carved wooden legs which curve toward the outer edge. Stamped on the bottom in gold is the ouline of Mt. Fuji ,Hiragana characters reading, "Fuji" and a seal reading "Jirushi". The donor's name, "Uno", is scratched into the wood on the bottom. B.
