Rhizoma Imperatae
The dried rhizomes of Imperata cylindrica Beauv. var. major (Nees) C.E. Hubb. (family Graminae).
1. as a bebrifugal, diuretic and gemostatic agent for the treatment of epitaxis, hematuria, edema, jaundice, urodynia, etc. associated with heat symptom-complexes.
2. as hemostatic and diuretic by eliminating evil heat from blood manly for the treatment of nasal bleeding, hematuria and edema due to acute nephritis.
