Shawl - Artifacts

Description
Kashmiri Shawl Fine hand woven cashmere wool scarf off white color, with large embroidered bands near each end in red, blue, yellow, pink, peach, turquoise, green, and black. Silk threads in a floral and paisley design. The large bands are bordered by less dense floral motifs. Above these bands are two paisley motifs. A small embroidered border runs along the sides near the edge which is finished with a green wool band that has been stitched on. The ends of the shawl have a self fringe two inches long. On one end is a cloth label with black ink printing "shawl, Kashmir India, 1800 - 1810, Blanche Payne" Condition: there are sereral moth holes about the scarf and signs of mending in a few places.
