Black silk yardage with gold brocade medallions with bats Machine woven silk with "Standard HK" printed on white selvages. The silk has a black background with medallions in gold brocade and the character for "lu" (riches) or "shou" (longevity) in black brocade evenly dispersed all over. Each gold medallion features a fancy version of the character "lu" surrounded by five bats. This fabric was probably purchased in Hong Kong for the purposes of making a cheong-sam or jacket. The fabric has been cut from a bolt and is unraveling slightly at both ends.
