Silk yardage, purple and cream checked Handwoven silk with sections of cream colored warp threads and sections of purple warp threads intersecting with both cream and purple weft threads. The overall pattern created is a checkered one of large squares (approx 3.5" x 3") which are dark purple, light purple, and cream. At the center of the fabric length is a wide horizontal band with a pattern that is slightly more intricate. wide vertical stripes, alternating between dark purple and light purple, are highlighted by thin horizontal cream colored stripes. The narrow horizontal stripes are placed approximately .75" apart, except for at the horizontal center of this section where there is a broader spacing which separates the thin cream stripes into an upper section and an identical lower section.
